PUBLIC BANKING

The creation of a public bank or state bank as enjoyed by North Dakotians for several decades. Keeping the profits in our state rather than a Wall Street bank. More here at the Public Banking Institute's website.

 

STATE CURRENCY

The Federal Reserve is not a public institution, it is private. We need a state currencygiving people a choice. Having only one currency means we live under a tryanny. And the Fed has acted abysmally with their failed fiscal gyrations.

 

RENEWABLE ENERGY

We can stop waste energy without much difficulty but people are not aware. Government will sponsor an education campaign showing how to conserve energy and rewards will be given to those who do. We will draw up a 20-year energy policy for Massachusetts that prioritizes:

1. Conservation

2. Replacement of fossil fuel sources with renewable sources

3. An online connector like craigslis that offers buyers and sellers of secondhand items and materials attributing value to trash and saving our resources and energy use in manufacturing. 

 

EDUCATION

Learning is a priority throughout life. We need to bring everyone together, inspiring educators and students and rebuild our educational pillars.

 

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Most people travel to the same destination every day, often in fits and starts (ie: traffic) This causes pollution and is such a waste of the stuff of life. Imagine sitting in a modern train, comfortable with state of the art wifi access and air conditiioned comfort. Think you could be more productive?

 

TRAFFIC LIGHTS

How long has it been since traffic lights have had an upgrade? Time for it now. Less delays, smoother traffic flow. All they need is a programming tweak. Why hadn't anyone thought of it before?

 

WI-FI

A major area for reform is internet access for all Massachusetts residents. It's like providing clean water these days, it's a must. And it will help our state thrive.

 

ARTISTS

"Everyone is either an engineer or an artist".  I want Massachusetts to be a mecca for artists. Life is Art, don't you think?  Being human we must express ourselves. I'd like to see more art in the streets, in business, in government. Why not make our happiness a top priority?  What would life be like then?

 

CANNABIS

The reason for the prohibition of this plant makes no sense whatsoever. Banning it is something an enemy would do to strip ordinary people of a most helpful plant. Cannabis in the form of marijuana has been proven to cure the most dire diseases - with no side effects. Why would anyone want to deprive someone of such relief?  Have they no mercy our lawmakers?  The "industrial" form of cannabis, hemp, can be used for cleaning up the environment. Growing it conditions soil, can can be used for making paper at a yield 4 times that of trees, and that's in one season not 10 to 15 years!  No pesticides are needed to grow it, and it can be grown almost anywhere. Bio-plastics can be made from hemp eliminating the need for petrochemicals. Housing made from "hempcrete" is fireproof, rodent proof and termite proof, it sequesters carbon and hardens as it ages and cuts energy use by 50-80%!
